This is not a City of Toronto Property Information Report. Open City data, explained. Details
Method and sources
This is not a City of Toronto Property Information Report.
Sources
- City of Toronto Open Data: building permits (active and cleared), Municipal Licensing and Standards investigation activity, Zoning By-law, address points, apartment building evaluations.
- Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Toronto.
What we count
600,682 permits and 152,030 investigations at 174,311 addresses. Cancelled, refused, abandoned and superseded permits are dropped. Open means issued and still in the City's active permit file.
Limits
97.0% of addresses with a file match the City's address list. Zoning is read at the address point, covers 93.8% of addresses, and leaves out overlays and older by-laws. Investigations in the file are recent, not a full history. A blank proves nothing.
Privacy
We publish no owner, builder or street number. An address you type is turned into a one-way code in your browser. Area and zone pages need at least 11 addresses.
Artificial intelligence
AI helped draft explanations. It adds no facts about a property.
